Red Riding Hood: Alright, Mister Bird! Although that sounds quite absurd!

Hedgehog: Why, hello there, you two! May I interest you in some berries for your grandmother?

Red Riding Hood: Yes please, thank you!

Narrator: A while later the Big Bad Wolf had made it to Grandma’s house. He had decided to eat grandma, and then Red Riding Hood!

Big Bad Wolf: Open up, grandma!

Grandma: No! I know your little tricks!

 Is Mr Wolf Guilty of First Degree Murder?

Firstly, the Big Bad Wolf is guilty because he dressed up as grandma to try and eat Red Riding Hood. But it is the Big Bad Wolf's Instinct though. But instead of eating grandma why did he not eat a squirrel or something else? Another reason why I also think he's guilty is because he broke an Entrance into Grandma's house without permission.

Secondly, He locked grandma up in the closet. Why did he not just stay at the door and wait for Red Riding Hood to tell her that it was not her grandma because she was acting strange because he didn't let her in? instead of pretending to be grandma? 

Lastly, animals can not go to jail and it's his Instinct to eat meat, but Red Riding Hood is not hurt in any way and same with grandma. So what do you think? Should The Big Bad Wolf be in jail? Or should he not?

Fluffy The Cat!

This is a story that I made for my Mum, and for my cat that died.

Fluffy the cat lived in a little fox hole, it was under a medium tree for shelter. Fluffy is a ginger cat with soft fur like a cloud.

One day it was raining and Fluffys house caved in, so he went to another tree and he saw a little girl.

Her name was Belle and she had light brown hair and light brown eyes. She was wearing a light pink t-shirt with light blue shorts. Fluffy went up to the little girl to make her warm.

Fluffy was picked up and he got a large hug from Belle. As Fluffy closed his eyes, he fell asleep in Belles arms. When Fluffy woke up it was still raining? But he was under shelter? But it was not the tree?

After a while,
Fluffy realised he was no longer at the tree. He was at a house. Belle lived all by herself. The house had dark blue walls and grey carpet. It also had a brick roof.

Belle lived all by herself because her parents went to Auckland and they never came back. Fluffy thought that Belle ran away from an orphanage but no. Now Fluffy is Belles pet.

Belle went to pick up Fluffy, when an idea popped up in Belles head. Fuffy! (Fluffy looked up at Belle) we are going to find my parents!

A bus to Auckland! Fluffy and Belle snuck onto the bus, they travelled for ages. Then Fluffy and Belle realised that they had a lot of looking to do.

So Fluffy and Belle went to the police and they said that Belle got lost and so we came here. So the police called Belles Mum and Dad and the police said that they would be here soon.

Then after they got home, Belles parents let her keep Fluffy and they lived happily ever after.

My Father's Day Card!

This is my Father's Day card. It took me a little while to make. At the front it says Happy Father's Day Pa, that is what I call my Dad sometimes. The back is a drawing of me and my Dad. In class we are learning to apply our knowledge. My favourite part was the title because it was black and pink, two of my favourite colours. I found it interesting that I love Jam tarts and then Mum told me they were also a favourite of my Great Grandmothers.

The Bee And Cricket Animation.

In the lockdown I am learning to apply my knowledge. This is my bee and cricket animation. I thought that learning at home was not like school, But it is just like school. My favorite part was (I am not going to tell you because it was spoil my animation) I didn't really find anything challenging.  And you have 10 seconds to reach slide! Do not read until the end. My favorite part was when the bee ran away from the cricket.

Plastic!

Hola everyone! I am in lockdown, you probably are too. What would you do to stop plastic from harming are environment? Have you ever made beeswax wrapper before we are learning to apply our knowledge. I found it interesting that you can compost beeswax wrappers. My favourite part was my last slide with the cute cat.  And you have a minute to read each side.

Compost!

Hi there just a reminder that you have 30 seconds to read each slide! So we are learning to apply our knowledge. I do prefer using compost than any other fertilizer or chemical. It is the lockdown so I might not of had done it right? I am not sure. I found it challenging to find the right font for my sides, because sometimes they can be a little tricky to find. My favourite part was my first slide, because I like the moving background.

My Cat Robot

In class we are learning to summarise across multiple texts. I would use it to clean my room. I published this blog post on the first day of the 3 day lockdown. I do not mind being in lockdown. But school is better though, you might not think that it is the best but I do. I found it challenging to create a robot built out of shapes because I am used drawing it. My favourite part was the eyes because they were cute. Next time I would do a different slide, maybe about how plastic harms the environment.

For my homework I made a robot out of leftover boxes. My favorite part was the eyes because they are googly eyes! I found it challenging to stick the eyes on because they kept falling off. I found the antennas (that was straws) interesting. Here are some photos of my robot.

Sophie Pascoe Report

In class we are learning to use paragraphs. We had to stick to one topic in our paragraphs. We also had to use a first sentence that is my topic sentence, and we had a use 2-3 supporting details, and my last sentence is an concluding sentence, 

I liked learning about Sophie Pascoe. It was very exciting. I found it challenging to use my topic sentence, because I don't really use topic sentences and I'm not used to it. My favourite part was learning about Sophie Pascoe.

Sophie Pascoes event is swimming. She has five medals - 3 golds and one silver. She is an NZ swimmer.

Sophie Pascoe is 28 years old today. She grew up in Christchurch. She has one sister. Her name is Rebecca Pascoe.

 On 23 September 1995 Sophie Pascoe was accidentally run over by her father on the family lawn mower!

Sophie Pascoe broke a world's record while taking her total to 15 Olympic medals. Sophie Pascoes achievement is swimming at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Kowhai

 In class we are learning to summarise. Summarise means to tell in or reduce to a short statement of the main points. It was really fun to learn about Kowhai trees, it was very interesting. I found it challenging to draw a good picture of a Kowhai flower, because I haven't really done it before. Next time I might do aloe vera.

Japan!

 In class we have been learning to skim and scan. I enjoyed learning about Japan. I think Japan is really interesting because of their native animals, and how they dress. My favourite native animal in Japan is a Red Panda, and I love Red Pandas so much because they are very cute. I found it quite easy to find the facts. My favourite part was the animal slide because it had a Red Panda on it. I hope you enjoy reading my slideshow. 

The Olympic Games (ESports)

Should ESports be in the Olympics? Justify your reasons. 

An ESport is an electronic sport (gaming). I think that gaming should be in the Olympics because if someone has a talent then they should show it to the world.

 In class we are learning about Olympic mascots. My class and me all made a mascot. Except we did not do it on a piece of paper. We drew it on chrome canvas. Chrome canvas is like drawing on a piece of paper except it is on your chromebook. We had to draw it about our country, so that it could represent a country. I also found it challenging to colour in the background blue because it took me ages. My favourite part was her wavy sunraisers. Next time I would change it to a Kiwi because it is one of our most Popular native birds.

I chose a sun becasue New Zealand is the first to se the sunrise.

 At home I am working on a slide and I have finished it. I did it at home because I have a sore throat. I kind of Miss being at school because I like the weekend so much and sometimes I never want it to end.

My Game.

In class we have been coding, I have been coding on Gamefroot. Gamefroot is a site when you code your very own game. I have created a background, chosen a character ad coded the character to move right, left, up and down. I have also added lava pits and kumara. I found it easy to choose a background but I found it really hard to code my player. Kylah helped me. I think I am finished my game. Do you agree? What did you enjoy about my game? What changes do you think I could make?

My June Reflection.

In class I did my june reflection. I have not so done I match reflection and another one. I also had another buddy but she had to go with someone else. 

What I found challenging. To finish it on time.

My favourite part was snow flakes on the side of the June.

What I found interesting. Was that we did so much in half a year!

 

Maths.

In class we have been learning about financial literacy,financial literacy means to learn about money.   We had someone called callum teach us about it from the ASB  get wise, We also made up some jobs that we would do, to get the money that we need. When I say jobs I mean like running a lemonade stand or mowing some one's law. What I found challenging. Was to take a photo. My favourite part, was to write my reflection.What I found interesting. Was that how they make money is just like printing a piece of paper out!!!

In class we were doing a slide about matariki. Matarik is 9 stars in the sky. have you ever made a slide about matarik?  What was your favourite part? What did you like most about it? My side was the last slide, The people that I shared the slide with were Jakob R, Amelia, Olivia, Aimie, And me.

My favourite part. Was my writing.

What I found challenging. Was to read the story and then write it down.

What I found interesting. I thought there were seven stars but there is 9.

I was learning to. Compare and contrast.

This is my invitation for my Mum and Dad, I made it because it is the student-led conference. The student-led conference is something when you show your parents you're learning, I am going to show my parents my blog, A  blog is what you are on now. On my invitation it says the time the date also who it is for. It is also a great opportunity to show your parents your learning.

I was learning to understand how to shape texts for different purposes and audiences.

What I found tricky. To do the outlining with black paint without going over the other colours.

My favourite part. was the shading.

Tom's real name is Thomas.

Tom lives and works in Wheeling which is just out of Chicago and he lives with his son Jordan.

He is an abstract / pop artist.

He owned his own art gallery but now he just sells to them.

His art sells from $400 - $6,000

What I enjoyed - I enjoyed the part when I did the eyes because I like to challenge myself.

What I found easy  - was the shading because all you do is add more white every time.

What I found tricky - I found it tricky to paint the outline black without going over my other colours.

What I would change next time is my reflection so that it is not the same.

The process I did was:  We had drawn a picture in pencil then we did our shading without going over the lines, then we coloured in the outline with black paint and then we did our eyes. Then we shaded the hair with colours making light to dark by adding white to colours to make them lighter. This inspired me because I like doing art and I liked the colours in this artists work.

Measurement Tasks.

In class we have been learning to measure things. We had to have a buddy and my buddy was Aimie. My brand new learning was knowing my popliteal length.

What I found challenging. My popliteal length.

My favourite part. Was that we had buddies.

What is the life cycle of a butterfly and bee.

I was learning to: I was using a diagram to help my reader understand. A diagram is a drawing or plan that shows the parts of something or how the parts work together. My success criteria was to use a diagram, label my diagram .and also explain my diagram.

 What I found challenging: To write all of the writing in time.

My favourite part was the be and the butterfly backgrounds.

What I found interesting. Was that bees had five eyes. 

Perseus.

This week I read a story about Perseus and Mediua. Perseus was a Greek demigod and Medusa was a gorgon which is a monster. She had snakes in her hair. Perseus had to chop off Medusa's head to save his mother.

I was learning to infer. Infer means reading between the lines and finding the answer from the text. I had to infer what type of person Perseus was and give evidence from the text saying what made me think that. I found it hard because I didn't get it right the first time. I wrote what happened in the story and  I didn't describe if he was brave or something. Aimie helped me get it right.

What I found challenging. Was my drawing.

My favourite part. Was the rainbow background.

A rainbow is a multi - coloured circle in the shy. Did you know white light is made up of 7 colours? Put a mirror in a glass of water in a dark room. And shine a torch on place a paper over it and break up sun's white light into a rainbow and then  you will  see seven colours.

 This week Mrs Torrie came into our class and showed us what a Sprite is and how to use Piskel to create our own. I choose to do a dark brown kitten, because kittens are one of my favourite animals. 

What I found challenging was to finish me art on time because the boxes were so tiny, then I figured how to make the blocks bigger, it It took me a while to make it.

I found it interesting that its called Sprite, because Sprite is a soda.

My Sprite is not finished yet it is supposed to be on a game and it should move and this is what I have done so far.

In Reading we were learning to analyse and synthesise. We had to read a Sign Language poster and work out our name. We read some articles and watched some videos to find out more information.

What I found interesting. that you don't just use your hand with Sign Language - you use face expressions to.

My favourite part was when I could go home and tell my family that I knew how to spell my name in Sign Language.

I found it challenging to learn my name off by heart.

Using Canva for the first time as it was a bit confusing finding my way with it.

What I found interesting:

The new add ons and fun stuff on Canva.

What I enjoyed:

Was taking photos with my Mini Mouse. My Mum brought this for me when I was 2 1/2 when I moved into a bed.

What I found challenging: 

To ask people who had cats and who had dogs.

My favourite part:

Was changing the colour of my pie chart.

What I enjoyed:

Posting it to my blog.

What I found interesting:

How there were 28 cats and 18 dogs.

Gardens

It was hard to get a good photo.
It was challenging to get under trees so I could get a good shot. And the bark was wet.And there weren't Much Shady spots in our gardens.

 I am 9 years old.  My name is Isabella.I have 20 chickens and I don't have a cat anymore.I am at St Mary's School.I have two brothers and a mum and a dad.my sports had gymnastics and swimming.

I am a year 5. my favourite food is Chinese. I love cats and dogs. My favourite animal is a baby kittenI. Am upset with unicorns.I am good at looking after cats.I  enjoy school.
